"You've reached the voicemail of Elizabeth DeWitt. Leave a message if you must; I'll get back to you at my earliest convenience." [Sarcastic? Maybe slightly]
Ayesha. I do miss her, she was quite the little character. She adored my son. Was always at odds with Raoul, though. It was quite entertaining. She would always go sit in his favorite chair right before he wanted to sit down. He'd try to nudge her away and she'd hiss at him. But then she'd have no issue with Charles or I coming and picking her right up.
I'm the one that sang on stage like a proper prima donna and that cat was still a bigger diva than I.
I always told Raoul to just come sit on the couch beside me, which he would do a lot of the time. He just didn't like to lose an argument with a cat.
[Christine knows why Ayesha always behaved that way towards Raoul...it was her way of saying "Excuse me, sir. You don't belong in this family, be gone with you." Not that Christine ever told Raoul that. ]
I had always wished for a dog as well, when I was a girl. A great, big dalbohund. We couldn't exactly afford a dog, though, with the famine that went through Sweden back then. After that, my father and I just traveled too much to have a pet.
You could always adopt one now. There's so many interesting animals down here.
Sounds like she might have been a little spoiled. Not that that's a bad thing.
Actually, I somewhat understand that feeling. When I was growing up, it was intensely frustrating to lose an argument to a giant bird creature.
You could adopt one, as well. I've been on the fence about it... last time a had someone depend on me... it didn't end well. I haven't exactly grown more responsible with age.
I used to lose arguments to that cat, too. Before we...reconciled. In a way.
I don't know about that, though. I don't even have my own place, not really. You at least, have that much. I just have a tendency to float around. Wherever the wind takes me, I suppose. Not exactly a pillar of stability.
Apparently cats get sent here by default-- maybe you could hire someone to find her, if you wanted to. If you're already bonded, she may not have an issue following you around. Songbird was perfectly willing to follow me wherever I happened to go. Though, I wouldn't exactly call him a pet.
[Just what Little Hades needs. TWO cantankerous diva kitties. Dammit why do I want this now.]
That would be quite the sight to see, a pretty Siamese following me around in my adventures.
I wouldn't want her to get hurt, though. Even if we're all dead. The sort of life I live these days, poor creature would end up subjected to so much needless danger.
I can promise you that I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself.
... Though it doesn't exactly hurt to have... friends. [almost a question. Is that what they are? Liz isn't great at putting words to this kind of thing... Booker had been her one and only friend.

I found this at Crimeries' Cursed Crap today.
I think it's destiny.

Is this supposed to be one of those stylish guilt jackets we were discussing?

The dead eyed stare of that unicorn is truly haunting.

Is it bad that I'm actually tempted to buy this thing?

Not sure I could actually handle a blood-thirsty unicorn, though. Big difference between a cat and a mythical creature.

What was her name? Do you miss her?

Still, it must have been nice to have a pet. When I was younger, I always wanted a puppy. Like that was going to happen.

I'd just feel a bit too guilty if she ended up getting hurt because of something stupid I got myself into.

I can imagine how that might feel; I see your point.

Until now, of course.

Is this how things are supposed to go?]

Even if the reasons we understand each other so well are less than pleasant ones.
[This is totally how this goes.
...All the weird flirting excluded.]

This is probably going to sound strange, but... you're only the second close friend I've ever had. I don't really know what I'm doing.
But I'm... I'm glad we met, truly.
no subject
I've never really had an extensive list of friends I'd consider close. And you're the only new one in the span of a decade.
Occasionally, Hell shows a little mercy to its playthings. Leads them to people they need to meet.
